This is a very intriguing short story - How did the scientist discover the light source? Why did it become dark all of a sudden? I would really like to read more of this story. Remember when you embed a Google Document into your blog it doesn't work properly - the best way is to copy your work and then paste it into your blog post using ctrl+shift+V to remove the formatting.
What an amazing start to a story. "It was dark as always..." is a fantastic opening sentence to get the reader interested. I also think that there are some great ideas here for you to keep working on. Let me know if you write some more because I'd love to read it too.
