Samoan laugngauge

 

In the kh (kauri hub) we did a activity this week all about Samoan we got a slide to start on and they left us to do the work firstly there was texts,audios and books all about Samoan with one side with chilli one and two and the other has three and four we had to read at least two text then we could carry one. the next slide had a picture that we had to infer about what was Samoan like in there then a fifth slide had a word search and we had to find the words about animals in Samoan. then on the next slide we could create a digital drawing using some of the words listed on slide 6 all in Samoan like:flowers in Samoan,sun in Samoan,moon in Samoan, mountains in Samoan and etc. then you could create a video,cartoon,book,song,game,puppet show,poster or other dlo to teach either a class member,middle school student,middle school student parents/caregiver or grandparents about Samoan numbers up to ten,Samoan animal names,Samoan colours or information about Samoan the country, I decided I would create a poster about Samoan numbers up to ten to show a middle school student I decided not to do the early finishers cause Friday was the last day you could post and I ended up posting on that day.

I really enjoyed this because...there were a lot of creates in this slide and was really fun to make and you got to show it to someone so you put your skills to good use.

how to make Samoan coconut rolls

 Ingredients: 20 frozen dinner rolls, 10 oz of coconut milk,1c of sugar.

Equipment:9x13 glass baking dish, cooking spray,bowl.

Instructions:

. coat a 9x13 glass baking dish with cooking spray and arrange rolls evenly to thaw.

.cover with plastic wrap sprayed with cooking spray.

.allow it to cook until its doubled the size.

. grab a bowl and combine coconut milk and sugar whisk it until the sugar is dissolved.

.pour ⅔ of the mixture over the rolls and bake till gold or brown.

. take it out and pour the rest of the mixture (if you have) on top.

Time:4-5 hours line:3 20-30 minutes line:last one degrees:350.

today in the kh (kauri hub) for writing we could either write about ...a information report,recipe or a narrative. I chose to do a recipe and the recipe I listed was how to make coconut rolls the topic was all about Samoan so it was obvious it had to be from Samoan.

I really enjoyed this because...we got to choose a recipe to write down and create also I was thinking that i could take my book home and actually see If this recipe works, have you have wrote down a recipe and tried it if you did let me know down in the comments thank you!

How to make Tanghulu (Chinese fruit candy's)

 Ingredients,fruit/fruits(any),water(cold).

equitment:pot,sticks/stick,candy thermometer(if you have)

spoon,sheet pan,silicone baking sheet or parchment paper,pan spray,syrup.

steps:

1. wash and dry your fruits/fruit.

2.arrange the fruits/fruit on the sticks, average 1-3 per piece per stick.

3.put water and sugar mixture to boil.

4. use your candy thermometer to track the sugar water mixture until it reaches 300 degrees Fahrenheit,

OR test the temperature by dipping the spoon in, then dip it in the cold water then dip it into sryup if it hardens immediately your good to go!

5. get your fruits on the sticks and dip it into the mixture.

5.place it on your sheet pan and wait for it to dry.

6.ENJOY!

!TIPS! if it sticks spray it with pan spray before putting it on.

if you want to save it lightly cover it with plastic wrap.

Identity

 

today in the kh (kauri hub) we did a fun project about Identity first we had to read or listen to 2 books or audios,next we had to explain what Identity is by using pictures or words I used food,people and flags to explain what it was and also wrote what is your culture,food or yourself. the fifth page had a picture with a link inside it basically we had to do a really fun treasure hunt we had to search what our name means and where it came from my name came from Latin and it 

mean "god is my judge" and make a video on flip grid  then upload it. the next one was watch and discuss with a buddy about inferences and answer the questions in the videos and record in your book.then they gave us a picture it was a family on a boat with a house flooded everywhere on the floor they also gave us some question to answer like how did they fit so many things on a boat?whey are all of those people on the boat? what happened? etc. then create a identity chart with your name in the middle and what you are like daughter/son,mother/father,what you like,what job you have and etc. then lastly you create your own name art using the trick called reflection and creation, then create pictures out of your name that you reflected then in the gaps in between fill it out with more pictures show it to the teacher then your done!

I really liked this because...the name art was really fun it included a lot of colouring,designing and drawing.

air bender traits

  I disagree that i'm an air bender because…

It says that air bender are dynamic which means they come up with a lot of good/bright Ideas, for my consideration I feel like i’m not that kind of person who makes ideas, I’m the one who helps with the Ideas.

my bender is good because we have a package of powers that include: flying,running fast (invisibility), jumping high,smoke bombs,air pets: flying bison,firefly's,winged lemur, hermit crab, ring-tailed winged lemur.

In the kh (kauri hub) we did a very fun activity basically the teachers set up a video about what bender are you fire,water,air or earth, (I really liked doing this because I do a lot of these videos at home). I got air as you can tell from the tittle, and we had to write about if we disagree or agree with our traits I disagreed and also we had to persuade our author into thinking that are bender is the best!

I really enjoyed this because...we got to do a video that was about choosing 1 out of 4 choices then calculating your points at the end to see what you got!

10 world war two facts! (ww2 facts)

 

today in the kh (kauri hub) we did a little activity all about world war two, firstly we got our Chromebooks and writing books and a pencil we first wrote and researched world war two facts and listed 1-10 in our books and wrote the facts down. then we went ahead and showed the teacher then we use one of tools and then write them down with pictures to show the meaning.

Hobby/jobs

 

today in the kh (kauri hub) we did an activity for our reading about jobs, basically we discussed about what you would want to become in the future then go on the reading slides and do the activity and listen to others. on the first slide it had books stated chilli 1,2,3 and 4 about different types of jobs like cooking,chess,space, camping and etc, the seconded slide had a a chart listed with five spaces, one slot saying word, the others said definition and sentence, we had to write down 5 unknown words towards you, search the definition/word and write a sentence with that word in it. the second slide was a create slide about what type of hobby looks the most interesting to you on page 2-3 ( see lines 3-4 ) then insert a picture and answer three reasons why you chose that hobby and what made it interesting. the third slide had a video about how to be an illustrator using arts and crafts. the forth slide was about strategies for figuring out unknown words, they gave you two examples then you had to try discover 8 unknown words.

the fifth slide had another video about prefix and use it to help you to decode. the next two slides had  three letters words and you to finish it off it gave you an example then you would have to choose one of the three letter words and finish it on the chart. then you had three options option number one was to turn your hobby into you dream job and design a logo for it, the second option was to create a video and show show the teachers of a tutorial of a hobby, the last option was to pick a new hobby and learn a new language with duolingo and paste your score on the next slide.
